Ruth, on the other hand, would rather sit quietly reading or writing in her journal, or playing with her baby sister, Melody. And her beloved older sister, Virginia, is a natural champion for justice, steadily gaining fame within the community and on social media. Ruth’s father, a professor of African American history, is a walking textbook, spouting off random dates and events. Her mother, a United States senator, frequently appears on MSNBC and CNN as a powerful Black voice fighting for legislative and social change she’s also the promising potential nominee for US vice president.
